UMEDIA believes that supporting the arts is just as important as making art. We assist local, regional and national arts organizations make and share art. For example:
Poetry Out Loud Contest – Poetry Out Loud is a National Recitation Contest. Created by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, Poetry Out Loud is administered in partnership with the State Arts Agencies of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. The Springfield AreaArts Council administers the Illinois contest.
Springfield Ballet Company: Nutcracker – The Springfield Ballet Company was created in 1975. The Company’s diversity is evident in its repertory programs, which feature classical ballet, contemporary ballet, jazz, modern, tap, theatre, and character, with three major and several minor performances each season.
